Fronting Your Insurance 2

By Barry Loughran

Fronting is not only illegal but it might actually have a negative impact on your chance of obtaining low premiums in future life. The most legal, easiest and fastest gateway to lower prices is by accumulating no claims bonuses throughout your driving career; this can see your premiums reduced between 50% - 65%.

One of the country's leading insurance providers tried a method to reduce the cost for young drivers. They provided a GPS system in the vehicle and it recorded when and how much the vehicle was driven, a pay as you go car insurance policy. This meant that if you drove your vehicle for short distances in non rush hour periods then you would receive lower premiums. The system proved successful with reduced claims for many drivers, however, the insurers cost to install these devices in all vehicles of their policy holders proved too much to cover by themselves.

The GPS system cost around £250 per vehicle to install.

Other methods suggested by the insurance providers are to:

Obtain a pass plus certificate - this will see your policy reduced by 10%

Purchase a smaller and cheaper car - as the premium is based on the vehicle driven

Agree to a higher excess - this will lower your premium but you will pay more in the event of an accident

Fronting is one of the first things checked once a claim is made nowadays and if found guilty, it will void any claim.

So experts preach that honesty is the best policy, be true with your insurance and you will have nothing to worry about in the event of making a claim.
